That's one possibility (cane toads are an endemic pest here)Ö the other possibility was a marsh frog. That bowl has since been washed up anyway, so all safe.

Thanks for that, poked around dumbrunner.com a little bit and it's hilarious! I'd go as far as to say it's the best thing about running, since running sucks

It speaks to me since I resumed jogging a few months ago after a 40 year hiatus. Although so far the running thing seems a bit less cliquish than some roadie cycling cliques.

I'd like to say running is cheaper, and overall it is. But I've spent more on shoes the past few months than I have on bike tires the past five years. Still cheaper than buying bikes, and the apparel is cheaper too.

That's true, but the dumbrunner writer is in Portland, maybe Nike-land has more runner culture.

I'd like to say running is cheaper, and overall it is. But I've spent more on shoes the past few months than I have on bike tires the past five years. Still cheaper than buying bikes, and the apparel is cheaper too.
Depends. 'running clothes' may be cheaper than 'cycling clothes', but athletic shorts and tech tees from Target are like $5 and work for both. But as you note, running shoes. Probably more essential to running to have proper shoes, with cycling you can always (like me) use pinned platforms and any sneakers. And 'proper' running and cycling shoes are both expensive, but cycling shoes (ideally) never touch the ground so they last longer.

looks like you could keep that in the fridge, portion it out as flavoring for 40 coffees

What's the cost on that monstrosity?

I wonder if it would stay "good" for 40 days... or break down into a strange chemical/dairy nightmare.
