Setting up PC Speakers for the rear channels

I've never tinkled with hi def audio stuff, either on TV or PC. But I recently discover (at least on PC) that it is real easy. You don't need some special (aka expensive) speakers set... just get an additional set of regular speakers and plug them in the black-colored 3.5mm jack instead of the green one.

Bummer, all digital movies are ripped with 2 channel audio and I can't be arsed to get up and plug in the original disks every time I wanna watch a movie. But the thing came to life later when playing games.... it's awesome. The stuff that's behind you, sounds louder on the rear speakers, really good for games where you are a character on a 3d environment.

Now the setting... I just ran a 3.5mm extension and place the rear-speakers on a desk, behind me. But it doesn't look nice. I don't wanna do anything permanent either like installing them on the walls (rented home). So I'm thinking, I could manufacture some kind of curved pipes to be attached to the PC Desk. Those could go up and back, and carry the speakers at the end... just an idea... I would like suggestions.

I'm thinkin something like the beer helmet, but with four speakers surrounding your head. Take pictures.

manufacture or buy some speaker stands and use some double sided tape to attach them together.

I think Ikea sells some nice brushed ones with a concrete base for not too much.

alternatively, it's actually fairly easy to make your own.

just find some spare 10lbs plate weights and glue on a pipe that fits.
Food for thought: if you aren't dead by 2050, you and your entire family will be within a few years from starvation. Now that is a cruel gift to leave for your offspring. ;)
