The theme for June is Daybreak, chosen by April's winner, macfred.

Rules:
Theme: Daybreak
- You must be the photographer
- One photo per person per theme

How recent? I've got a damn nice picture from June 2010, but it's worth it!

OK. Purple Mountain Majesty. Pikes Peak at dawn - the inspiration for that phrase in America the Beautiful.

This is tough one ... I try not to be awake at daybreak.

I've got some really old ones from when I was doing overnight randonnees.

Most of my dawn pics are taken on the way to work. I pass this field every morning and sometimes stop for a pic when the clouds and light are especially nice.

Awesome. Unfortunately, most of my morning photos are too old to work for this.

You know what? I take that back. All my early morning landscapes are super old, but think I'll go a different way with the daybreak theme and post a picture from an early morning of mine.

Daybreak

Sunrise officially occurred a couple hours before this photo was taken, but in the mountains, the sun doesn't peek over and between the mountains until sometime later. The sun had risen just enough to light the top of the mountain and clear the fog a little bit.
