I hear mtn biking participants include Afro-Americans, jewish folks, hispanics, older folks, some Norwegians, some short folks, some young people, some tall folks, protestant and catholic folks, some athiests, and even some with disabilities, some whiteys, and yes, some folks who might be openly gay (you can tell by their colorful jerseys and tight pants ).
