I don't really play favorites when it comes to dogs. I love them all! I do really like German Shepard's though. I had one growing up and would like to get one someday soon.

I prefer mutts. If they have some Aussie/Border Collie mixed in they basically rule.

Hmm, got two Neufies, and two english mastiff's, companionship and proctection x 4, always try to have a collie around, they clean wet mouthed dogs up well and don't wander, most any dog will be a dog, the owner has to give it an environment that's friendly and care free, otherwise any dog will be a nightmare, take pit bulls, great dogs, can be trained to attack anything, had an airdale, excellent dog, breed was established to hunt lions, successfully.

Australian Shepherds, then Collies. Including mixes. I love all kinds of dogs, and cats, though.

I pretty much love all dogs. Favorite dog for me to own is Pekingese. But I'm a vet and can deal with all of their medical issues, and have the patience to deal with all the grooming required. Also, I'm good with training them, as they are smart but stubborn, stubborn, stubborn little dogs. The upside? Unlike most toy breeds, they do not yap, jump, bark, or whine. Or bite (at least, mine never has). She will patiently let you do anything to her.

Greyhounds. I have three currently in a two bedroom apartment. No shedding, no barking, no dog smell. Sweet tempered and gentle. They are the inspiration for the phrase "faithful hound" and "release the hounds!" I have brought in two others to babysit with no issues.

Love all the sighthounds. Ex-racing greys are the favorites.

Welch Corgi's are cool dogs. My dog Mojo is part Corgi and gets along great with everyone. He has a heavier coat than a pure blooded Corgi so he suffers in the summertime but he loves winter!

I had a Rottweiler (Lola) until just a year ago. She was an older dog I found wandering around where I work. She was sweet and loved attention but was very, very stubborn. If she got a hold of a bone or some toy she wanted, there was no way to get it away from her. I miss her a lot and I'm sure one of these days, I'll get another Rottie.

I had a Sheltie as a teen. It had a genetic defect and that second fluffy coat never came in. This was great as I lived in Florida. The best walking dog ever! You could go on a 5 mile hike, no leash, never think about it but at the end of the trail, there it would be, 5 feet away.

Just wish they were not so expensive ($1200 round here). I love their looks, lean muscular with that flat face

what is your favorite dog breed?

cat.

and no, that's not an acronym for canadian arctic terrier.

i grew up with dogs, and loved them all -- a dachshund, boxer, beagle, wired hair fox terrier... (ok, the dachshund wasn't my favorite.) but i like cats now. they're their own man. or own cat. not always trying to please me. and when they do, it feels special. i like that.

favorite cat was zoe the calico. best pet ever created for man's entertainment.

least favorite dog is easier to choose. that would be any spaniel breed. or the pekingese. and dogs bigger than me, and dogs smaller than new orleans rats. there's more...

I like dogs and try not to generalize or make assumptions, i do have a preference for herding and working breeds but the little bundle of fur curled up with me now is neither.

Our Shih Tzu is a loving, loyal, and gentle companion and we love her dearly because she is of such good character and temperament and she is also a brave little defender of hearth and home.
