EL-34 fat tone goodness. Blackstar was started in England in 2007 by two refugees from Marshall. Loudest combo amp I've ever owned. It's insane. And I only own the 50 watt version. They make a 100 watt version.

When do amps go from "practice amp" status to "not practice amp" status? 100 watt? 150? 75? I have a 25w Orange amp that is too loud for me, and I know that is a "practice amp". I also know a little secret that some big-time pros have their fake Marshall stacks on stage, but they are really playing through a mic'd "practice amp" hidden backstage.

I watched the video without sound. It looked like one barre chord being wailed on. I am sure it sounds great with sound, though.
I am almost tempted to post links to my own YouTube videos playing guitar, but I want to keep my real FOO life separate from my fake real life. And I play mostly in DADGAD anyway, so y'all wouldn't care that much.

it's three chords, four really, C7-B7-C7 slide, D9, E9, and then the guitar solo stuff. That pushes the Pcad Musical Envelope right there. I prefer two chord numbers.

WTF, what other people think of me is none of my business. I mostly post it so people I'm trying to play with can view it and decide if they have any interest. Working so far. Trying to hook up with the right local band situation. It's not easy.

A small neck makes it easier with small hands. Try an Ibanez electric, thinner/faster than something like a strat or acoustic. I think Peaveys are thick necks too.

I have a Seagull Entourage Rustic CW...has a smaller neck, and I have gigantic hands (can reach a 12th on the piano without expanding my hand). So, it makes it kinda funny to play, but it plays like butter, so it's worth it. Not to mention the Seagull sound--my favorite acoustic sound of all.

Played the open mic in Warwick tonight. Taylor acoustic. Went well. Two originals. Voice sounded good and I could hear myself sing, which really helps. Room liked the song writing.
After trying to play electric with lead guitar parts, playing chords only on acoustic is like driving an auto transmission car.

I also cut the tip of my left index finger, which doesn't facilitate guitar playing so much.

So I have a sound in my head. And every now and then I hear it coming out of my amp and my monitor @ home when I practice. More often lately than before. But the final thing is to get it to come out of the speakers when you're in front of a room full of people alone up on a stage @ some open mic when you're crapping your pants from nerves and self consciousness. It's nerve wracking, but it's a challenge. And I get a lot of positive feedback on the singing in particular, so I'm hoping that I'll meet some people to play with and maybe get a band together. My guitar playing is improving, but I go up there in front of these rooms and like I'm friggin skullfarked. But that goes with the territory. I've had a few moments where I thought I sounded like I wanted to. Mostly I keep crashing and burning, but hopefully not for too much longer.
People like that latest song I wrote, getting lots of good feedback on that. Gotta keep writing. It's not easy, but it's fun. When you do finally sound like you want to sound, even if it's alone in the basement, that's gratifying
