Eh, I think anybody can do whatever they want. To me, it takes girls down at least one level of attractiveness to have one that I see (depending on how large and what it is). So if she's super hot otherwise, then she's at most merely hot, etc. But since I'm happily married and not looking (and the girls wouldn't be interested anyway), it doesn't matter in the slightest what I think of them. Ok, that's not quite true. One job I had one summer between years of college (building UPS trucks), I was training my replacement and he had a very fresh (still scabby) and very crude prison tat. Didn't know what he'd done time for, but he kind of creeped me out. So, in general, what you choose to do with your body doesn't affect me, but, if you're working closely with me and have some scary prison tats, they might cause me to be a little more nervous around you than otherwise.

My GF is going through the process of having hers removed for me. I told her thanks, but I could have thought of better ways to spend the ~$1k it's costing her.

Sometimes art just goes all wrong.
Well, I can see where that might cause some issues with some people, especially if you brought her home to meet mom.
Bear in mind, She had all that done because she's a circus performer. I remember another one, male, who had
his entire body tattooed like a jigsaw puzzle. He had a guest appearance on an episode of "The X-Files".

Now, the lovely young woman in 10wheels example is, well, very nice. I have no problems with that at all. I like the example
Clemsongirl posted as well. Very nice indeed.

I guess this comes under the heading of "Everyone is different".

He may have issues spelling but I'd rather be around that than people who go around being mean or hurting others.

Toddles if you are not contributing to this thread in a way that is relevant to the topic or slamming on the OP, please leave this thread.

question about the redness around the tattoo when it's first done, does that always happen or are some much worse than others? I've seen people post pics of their "fresh" tattoo that is still red and puffy... not attractive at all. My co-worker said her son just got one and it looked normal and well done just later that day. Is that a matter of the artist's skill? or are the people posting up a swollen mess just that anxious to show it off?

It's just irritated bb. The redness and swelling goes away in a day or three. Stick yourself with a pin a few thousand times to see for yourself.

Great story! People who don't have tattoos think other people's tattoos are for them. That the purpose it to "look at me". Mine are all Marine Corps related. Tattoos with a purpose and a story are always better than generic flash tattoos.

I often ride my bike (the one you pedal) to Neptune's Net, on PCH. NN is a hang out for bikers and biker wanna be (the bikes you drive). You'd be surprised at all the dentists, CPAs, and lawyers, etc. sporting tats. They have poseur written all over them.
So dentists and lawyers are automatically poseurs? How do you know they didn't serve in Afghanistan years ago or are former longshoremen. Imagine what these guys think of you when you show up in your spandex shorts, clicky shoes and goofy helmets.

They are always a little red, but a bad tattoo artist can make it worse. It is ALWAYS worth the extra money to do your research and find a quality shop and a reputable artist. $150-200 per hour is the typical going rate for a good tattoo. I HIGHLY recommend watching teh show "Tattoo Nightmares" if you are considering a tattoo.

I got this one about 5 months ago to commemorate 20 years in the Marine Corps. Actually, the color USMC letters were done 20 years ago when I completed OCS. Got the eagle, shield and scroll as kind of bookmarks of my career. I am considering making a 1/4 sleve covering my entire shoulder area in the future. I just retired 3 weeks ago and am looking for my second career. The wife said I'm not allowed to get any tattoos until I get a job, then I can do what I want.
