My father owns a garage but I didn't seriously think about working with cars. I did want to be a professional photographer until I found out it wasn't a very good career. Then I decided to be an engineer, but in today's economy the average person in a fast food restaurant beats most engineers. If I could do it all over again I would have gone into medicine.

Commercial aircraft pilot, my whole family was into flying. I took a different direction and went into law, after music. Good choice as it turns out, but whenever a jet goes over I have to look up..and I own too many guitars.

For quite a while in my pre-teen years I wanted to be an architect, but poor penmanship and sloppy drafting in the waning days of when those things mattered killed it. A semi-random choice from the Cal Poly catalog at the tender age of 17 had me going to school for Materials Engineering, mostly studying metals when that wasn't terribly in demand anymore. (Oops.) But by the time I graduated, Unix was.
