Linux Users, I could use some help.
I need an app or hack that will allow an Ubuntu Distro to stream netflix movies. I migrated my little netbook away from Win7 due to ongoing stability issues, It's been rock stable, but I cannot for the life of me find a way to stream netflix. I DL'd Chrome for Linux, even, and still no joy, nor with Firefox.

Run Firefox with Silverlight inside of a Wine environment.
That's basically how I do it, though I'm not using Ubuntu. The largest issue is Microsoft has never released a Silverlight plugin for Linux.
Here's a good package to try with Ubuntu:

Tom if you're running 12.04:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ehoover/compholio
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install netflix-desktop
That'll give you an app that will run netflix inside of wine pretty seamlessly.

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install netflix-desktop

Tom, I know you migrated from Windows 7 but, you may want to try running 7 in a Virtual Environment so you work on getting the bugs worked out. I use VirtualBox from Oracle. I'm running Ubuntu as the host and Windows 7 in VM for work.

What stability issues were you having with Windows 7? I've had almost 0 issues with the Windows 7 OS of my most recent build. My only problems have been related to video drivers.

I'm a Linux user too. I haven't been using Windows for a couple of months now and the thought of running netflix-desktop is great to keep me from having to pay up $80 for Amazon Prime that is compatible with Linux compared to Netflix.
