Texas has a program where you can report the car and they will send them a letter and a car trash bag. Maybe a bit of shame would do them good. See if your state has a similar program.

If the window of the car was down you could have been a nice guy and returned their "lost property" to them.

This may be off topic but I've noticed that crows know what McDonalds bags are and will always rifle them for old french fries and such.
more cops have been killed by donuts than guns in chicago it is a medical fact ask any doctor.

I had someone throw a container of fries at me. But he forgot to include the ketsup.

I think certain fast food outlets attract a certain type of person. Around here McD bags represent about 90% of the fast food garbage (bags and food wrappers) but Tim's cup make up majority of the coffee cup trash. Could it be that people who were never taught to be responsible are attracted to these places ??

The team I train with "adopted" a mile stretch of highway to clean up. The section is near a convenience store and the cluster of trash is like a bell shaped curve leaving the store - the middle stretch has the greatest amount of trash

I've done this. It was pretty amusing. A car full of four teenagers, the one that threw it out was rather pissed when it landed back in his lap (fast food bag with wrappers in it), but the other three in the car had the good grace to look chagrined, and peer pressured the guy into not escalating.

I especially "like" this one (and have witnessed it many times) where a little kid wants to give the wrapper to their parent and he/she tells the kid to throw it on the ground. Teaching them "good" habits right from the start!
