I love the Citroen 2CV... the Ami on the other hand.

Even a pretty girl could not help this car.

Citroen Mehari from early 1970's. They were imported into the US for a couple years, 1970 and 1971, sold for around $1100 new. The body is all plastic, like a heavy plastic trash can weight. It has the 2CV drive train, very light and fuel efficient....but ugly..eh?

Thank god they replaced this design. I really like the new one, reminds me a bit of the old Town Wagon from the late 50's, early 60's.

Most Dodge trucks ever made go in this thread. The Ram, Ram Charger, Durango, later Dakotas, the vans... all of them. Even the Caliber. Also, the Chrysler Pacifica. And the Jeeps based on them, the Patriot and Compass. Eww.

In defense of the Aztek, it appears that it was a very well made vehicle, gets very high marks from it's owners, and was designed to be very utilitarian... I met a gorgeous young lady at the car wash today who was driving an Aztek and she said it has been one of the best vehicles she has owned.

In looking at so many of the new SUVs on the market it seems that they all have taken some of the same styling cues.

I'd probably hit it if the price was right.

The Pontiac that is.

Did the Aztek sell better, or the Buick Rendezvous on the same chassis with possibly less controversial looks?

I had one of these

I was also suckered into buying some roof rack prototype that held 6 bikes - which I loaded with bikes and drove with teammates to races. Everyone would crack their head when they got out.

It didn't take too many bikes for what was riding on the roof to exceed the value of the car.

Eventually, none of the doors would open so we all crawled through the windows to get in/out.

...good times.

The Rendezvous actually sold well enough that it was considered successful... the Aztek never met it's minimum production goals of 30,000 per year and in it's last year only 79 were manufactured and sold.

I have never met an Aztek owner who did not like their vehicle, from the inside... the design does not look as odd now as it did then
