I found this on Wikipedia:
Snapping turtles are omnivores, consuming both plant and animal matter, and are important aquatic scavengers; but they are also active hunters that prey on anything they can swallow, including many invertebrates, fish, frogs, reptiles (including snakes and smaller turtles), unwary birds, and small mammals.
So lettuce might be good. I don't know if they eat meat when they're small.

I think you dip it in caramel, then roll it in pecans then dip that in chocolate.

So by "all over thisa lake", does that mean there are 3 more? Have you seen a rat? If so, feed the turtle pizza. Trust me.

I saw one as big as a manhole cover once while fishing. It certainly gave me pause for wading in the area.

put it in a shallow pan of room temperature water with an area so it can get out and be dry. put a few little fish in there - pet store probably has young guppies - they work. catch a couple of bugs (or go buy a couple small crickets) and float them on the water. I used to have these all the time and wintered them and let them go in the spring.
