has hotmail gone downhill lately?

in the past 3-4 weeks, i find the service nearly unusable. i sometimes get redirected to a 'site not found' page when i go to the main site. sometimes i get redirected to a new blank email screen after log in. now, many times the folders are all empty of emails, and then don't show up unless i use a different browser or log off and log back in again. and sometimes, after sending an email a blank screen shows and after relogging back in, i discover that the email was never sent.

has anyone else noticed a significant decline in the service? it seems to have come up shortly after they increased the storage space. i wonder if that is a related issue?

I've used yahoo since 1998, never had a problem and friends who have gmail rave about it. So there are certainly no lack of alternatives.

Although, what I really would like is a very good imap-based email service.

as if the viagra and cialis spam wasn't enough, right? Mine has been working fine recently, tho I only check it about once a day. I'm dumping it soon enough... really enjoying Gmail.

I only use my hotmail acct as an avenue through which to use MSN messenger. However, I do check it once in awhile as some people do send me e-mails there, and it's been working fine for me.

Working okay for me(some 'site not found' errors-rare, tho). My wife is ready to kill it-problematic login action. We each have our own 'puter, btw. Maybe I can get her to finally use the ISP account.

hehe. i've had it for 5 years now, and although it's had various problems thoughout the years, i'm really surprised at it's performance recently. it just seems ultra buggy and unstable lately.

Hotmail was like a sharp, hot steel spike forced tough my head. Now that I have gmail the ads are text and at least relate to what is disscused in the email.

Micro$oft & hotmail = money hungey & evil.

That's just MS you're talking about now. I don't know about evil, but I'm sure the original owners of Hotmail were money hungry, at least. I mean, they did sell out to MS. I loved Hotmail when I first got it(mid-late 90's--don't remember exactly, but my pw is still only 4 characters) because it was the best thing to have if you didn't have email through an ISP, especially overseas. I really started it's decline when MS took over, IMO.

Oddly enough, I have found the surefire way to login to my hotmail account without problems is to use an alternative browser (other than MS Internet Explorer). I use Mozilla Firefox, it was a free download and is as good or better than IE. It's quite weird though, an MS browser has problems logging in to a MS site!!!

The only thing hotmail is good for is to use as an address when signing up for stuff online. It takes all the spam, and I only have to check it once a week to watch for semi-important stuff.

Anybody can PM me if they want a gmail invite.
