Henry Gross was founding member of Sha Na Na & the youngest performer at Woodstock at 18. He also had a hit with the soft rock ballad about Brian Wilson's dog - Shannon. In '75 he released a good guitar jam album Plug Me Into Something with this song about forming a Southern Band....and he's from NYC

Interesting. Based on absolutely zero factual information, (probably just some 30+ year-old hearsay), I had always thought the youngest performer at Woodstock was Santana's drummer. From the last time I saw the film, I remember he looked like he was about 15!

Anyway, back on topic... Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' with Disaster

I got that from wiki, so it could absolutely be wrong....also it mentioned "performing on the main stage" so obviously someone younger did perform on one of the smaller stages.

I have been referencing wiki since its inception and have yet to find it wrong. At worst, it was simply deficient in some minor details.

On the other hand, it could just be the things I reference, since I use it for general science and historical data and seldom look up personal experiences. Anyway, i just thought I'd mention that since academia tends to snub its nose at wiki as a reputable source. From my perspective, its just the snob in them. End of rant.

Yep, I miss the mellower storyteller song era of the early 70's, and with the earlier posting of a Boston song, in my first hearing them, I still get a laugh in my not initially liking them as their being extremely "heavy metal".

The problem wit Wiki used in academic circles, is that it's not vetted very well. It may well be right, but you can't bank on it.

A Fifth of Beethoven

1976

"A Fifth of Beethoven" is a disco instrumental recorded by Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band, adapted from the first movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

Perhaps moderately interesting to some.... While discussing Heart's song "Barracuda" in a recent interview, Nancy Wilson admitted that she lifted the main guitar riff from this Nazareth tune, (which is a Joni Mitchell cover).
