My sympathies.....I lost my mother the day before Thanksgiving, so that holiday is a constant reminder.
I understand the emotions.

Never had the honour to meet your Mother but I do know she raised one hellava fine son. Think of your Mother and the pleasure she sees in you every day.

windhchaser,

I understand what you are going through. I miss my mother dearly. I lost my mother nine years ago just a couple of weeks before Christmas and it is not the same. I just can't get in the Christmas spirit like I used to could when I had my mother. She was my best friend....Richard

Sorry for your loss Windy. I'm sure she'd want you to enjoy Christmas. Put up her picture where she can enjoy the festivities and have fun in her honor.

Sorry about your loss windy. I lost my Mom four years ago, to complications from diabetes. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss her.

She bought me my Bottecchia bike. Each time I ride it, I feel her presence next to me.

You are a good guy Windy, I am sure that your Mom is looking down at you with her full approval.

Buena suerte amigo!

I have a good friend who was very close to her mother... she lost her mother just after she married. She misses her mother terribly. I remind my friend that my mother is still alive and I would in a minute trade all the good and loving memories she has of her mother for the not so good and unloving memories I have of mine... I am awkwardly trying to say, don't think negatively about your loss, think positively about what she means to you and how fortunate you are to have such good memories. I would trade you without hesitation... that said, Christmas can bring alot of meaning to a person's life... keep that in mind - what better time to remember mom.

Me too. Mine died two a few weeks after her birthday. It wasn't unexpected, she had breast cancer that spread through her body. Still.

I still have her last Xmass gift. It's an unfinished knitted shawl made in fall colors out of cashmere.

Sincere sympathies to you, windhchaser. My mom died nearly 15 years ago and I still miss her every single day. You cannot replace a mom in your heart. She died on her and dad's 51st anniversary of liver cancer. She beat breast cancer and colon cancer, but the liver cancer did her in. Dad died 7 years later. I miss him every day, too. But they made me what I am and by trickle down, what my adult son and daughter are, too. Their values, integrity, and love live on.

Hope you have a good holiday, Windy.

This year we lost my Mom, my brother-in-law's Mom and two dogs. 2013 is a sad Christmas.

Thanks for thinking that but no she doesn't... but much water under the bridge and I've gotten over all that and we talk occasionally as if nothing ever happened. She won't be around long so no reason for both of us to rip into old wounds... life's too short.

Anyway, again be thankful for those good memories... I wish I had some of yours! And GP sorry for your losses as well... I lost my dad and brother within a year of each other (dad 2011 and brother 2012) - one was a blessing and the other just sad for many reasons but I tend to dwell on all the positive good times and remember both are in a better place...
