I would like to go see these guys but I don't know if middle-aged punk rock is good for me or if a middle aged audience like me is good for them.

I became interested in this band, especially after their lead singer cited influences from 60's rock bands, such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, plus drawing the interest of bands like ZZ Top.

I have new respect for ice cream truck drivers
-----------------------------------------------------------

Good Charlotte's '02 breakthrough album The Young & the Hopeless went triple platinum, and every song was good. After they couldn't follow up with as good of an effort they really fell out of favor with fans & media, much like My Chemical Romance did. You hardly ever hear any of those songs off The Young & Hopless any more. Here's one that wasn't a hit but just a good song from a great album

The Madden Brothers are back with a new album and single I have planned for tomorrow's "2 For" with Echosmith and a family theme.

I heard this song some time back, and remembering the difference between the types of vocals and instruments being used.

I've always liked Nickelback. Here's two of their songs:
"I want to be a Rock Star"

"If Everyone Cared"

Emma Russack, You Shouldn't. I posted a video from Emma in the 90's thread where she copied a Coldplay video. Here's a new song from her. Very personal song. Great video.

Sexy song, is it about a threesome or girl love, I can't determine but yeah I'd say it's personal. You Aussies have so many talented artists. Emily Haines knew Heath Ledger and wrote this song after his death :

Though this song is not in the rock genre, it definitely has made the rounds on You Tube with over half a billion (with a b) views........to say that this video has gone viral is an understatement, even hearing my wife playing it on her iPhone just last night.

As opposed to the family wholesomeness of Echosmith, Canada's Grimes (Claire Boucher) is a little dangerous and very suggestive. She's older than she looks at 24 and is a pretty smart cookie, being a artist, musician, producer, video director, and singer-song writer of Grimes. She reminds me of a younger Emily Haines - smart, pretty, talented and spacey From wiki : Grimes' music has been noted by critics and journalists for its atypical combination of vocal elements, as well as a wide array of influences, ranging from industrial and electronic to pop, hip hop, R&B, noise rock, and even medieval music. In 2013, she was awarded the Webby Award for Artist of the Year.[SUP][7][/SUP] Also in 2013, Grimes was awarded a Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year.[SUP][8]

Dirty in more ways than one, good to have you back mconlonx. It's apparent the modern music girls can be just as vile and degenerate as the guys. Sex sells (or at least gets you noticed) and they're not holding back. " These Ukraine Girls Really Knock Me Out "

The PinK Floyd from Pompeii film reminded me of this Linkin Park video for What I've Done, but it's more interesting & political. Linkin Park should be represented on any discussion of good Modern Music. Like Death Cab & Coldplay everything they do is good. They have a great mix of rap & hard rock with melody. Check out these 3:
