The Smiths
Not spelled or pronounced the same, but both these ladies fronted a band when it wasn't so common. Frederick is about Patti Smith's SO - also a Smith
Frederick is a rocksong written by Patti Smith, and released as lead single from Patti Smith Group 1979 album Wave. The song is dedicated to Fred "Sonic" Smith, guitar player of the Detroit band MC5 and Smith's future husband.
The Piano intro of Frederick is a homage to the then regularly performed live intro by
Bruce Springsteen in concert for his song Prove It All Night

LA Music
A song & documentary about the music scene in LA - From '06:
"The River" is a song by Good Charlotte featuring M. Shadows and Synyster Gates of the band Avenged Sevenfold. Performing alongside the concrete L.A. river bank that runs through the city, contrasted with classic images of the beauty and history of Los Angeles. The video clip shows the two sides of L.A., the excitement and glamour of L.A. that the band witnessed early on in their career and then the deeper/darker hidden side of L.A. that people and the band saw after living there for years. MySpace celebrity Jeffree
Star and actress Megan Fox are featured in the background throughout the video. There are several references to the Bible throughout the song and the overall time of the song is three minutes and sixteen seconds, intentionally to reference John 3:16.
Not all LA music from the 80's was hair metal, a good documentary on the influental band X. The "Slash" referenced in the opening is the record label, not guitarist.
