Zombie Threads: The Reckoning
Welcome to my zombie thread. I considered posting in A&S, if only to be near the helmet thread (polls still open, exercise your right to vote), but brain buckets offer minimal protection from the ravenous undead. I was prompted to post this after the recent resurrection of Pet Sematary Peeves.
Zombie goodness list
They can make you laugh.
They can still make you think. Mmm, brains.
They can still teach you things. This one is teaching me Morse code.
Basically, if you have something helpful, interesting or entertaining to add, you can compound their value long after the OP has turned to dust.
They can give you a better appreciation for ancient history (however you define that on the internet).
The BikeForums morgue is your oyster!
The downsides I can see are when very specific or personal threads have definitely run their course; and the unedifying spectacle of pulling a dead horse out of the grave to beat it some more. But I think those would be in the minority and less attractive for exhumation anyway.
Now that you've heard my opinion, I'd like to hear yours.

Ride, don't walk to your polling station.

Charles Babbage's brain in the Science Museum in London. Often visited by the grateful dead, thought to be old COBOL programmers.

My own brain. Even the scan technician said it looked delicious.

Barbara "Beautiful mind" Bush visits Mao country with George, looking for organ donors.

Warning: ZOMBIE THREAD
I like it when someone resuscitates a thread to respond to an OP who hasn't been here (BF) for years.

Most zombies don't smell at all fresh.

Zombie news: Morgan Freeman investigates the possibility of a zombie apocalypse.

If you can trust anybody on an issue as important as this, it's the man who played a much cooler God than George Burns (who was better cast as the devil - though this guy is hard to beat).

God is so cool He made Gilligan and put him on a desert island to have wacky adventures with a couple of Eves who verily could not tempt him. Truly His ways are mysterious.
You might also remember Morgan from such films as Se7en, where he played a hard-bitten detective who knew there was a surprise in that box,

and Driving Miss unDeadly

Resident defies Ohio township on 'Zombie Nativity' caught my eye because I'm from Ohio.
Also in the news: Zombie-proof cabins. The world will keep spinning, you might as well, too.
A “Zombie Nativity” scene in a southwest Ohio suburb remained undead days past the deadline to remove it... The scene has eerie figures including a demonic-looking creature sitting up in the manger where the baby Jesus would be in traditional Christmas nativities. There’s a detached head with it in the manger, while another ghoulish figure holds a replica heart in its hand as a somber Silent Night plays in the background.
Township officials have said it’s not an anti-zombie issue, but pro-zoning rules.

How many times will this thread get resurrected from the dead?
I don't mind pulling up old threads to discuss something that has been discussed in the past.
But, if a person was looking for a bike 5 years ago, don't suddenly come up with a new suggestion for the person (although some things are good comments for reference topics).

To be boring, I'm totally ok with zombie threads. I mean, isn't that why we have a search tool?

^ Apparently you haven't seen Van Helsing, the Underworld movies, or HBO's Tru Blood. Ok, not as overhyped. But still some decent lycan content.
Werewolves aren't as sexy as vampires, nor as numerous or diverse as zombies. Although Dee Wallace, of the 1981's The Howling made a pretty hot lycanthrope.

Why did that man shoot Chewbacca?
Werewolf thread = can only post when there's a full moon

Frankenstein thread = posts merged from a variety of different threads

Mummy thread = hasn't been posted in for thousands of years

Godzilla thread = Huge and almost impossible to kill, like the helmet thread

Vampire thread = just sucks
