Victory Is Mine! OT

This is NOT a nonscale victory! I managed to transfer from the wheelchair to the walker UNDER MY OWN POWER! I did need balance assist and am still not allowed to try to solo transfer for safety reasons due to the left side paralysis, but I did it!

Next victory, also not of the nonscale type, but still major....

I transfer to assisted living Tuesday from skilled care. I'll be in that for a long time, depending on whether I make any more recovery, but assisted may be my peak. We shall see. It's still far better than skilled care rehab, though.

Actually as you are aware that is a good sign; that progress can be had; at least a step towards independence. I so appreciate you letting us know how things are going cause Tom, we all care for you.

PS: are you in a place with a shared dinner room, someplace you can or others can take you for meals... always good stories to share from those places... some funny, some sad...

Technically, shouldn't OT in FOO be about cycling?

It's good to see you are moving forward and staying positive.

Can you hang out with your little dog, after Tuesday? That would be a big win in my book, so here's hoping you can, for both of you.

Wonderful! Keep it up and give that assisted living place the boot too.

Though as Pam points out above, it might not be so bad to have other folks around.

You know those powered exoskeletons are real, right? Still in the prototyping and testing phase, but they aren't just a fanciful concept. They're actually being used to help people regain locomotion.

Yes, I do know that. And I think Tom ought to get one.

I can only imagine Tom, but great news I'm sure, to avoid one more assist or constraint, bravo and keep after it. Does assisted have a retention pond with fishing?
