I think the new ninja motorcycle has to much power they say it has 300 hp.to me that's to much there is no way it can get traction with 300 ponies

That's outrageous. Probably the equivalent of a 2000hp sedan. I had a buddy with a custom 220 horse gsxr, until he crashed it, and even that was more power than most could probably handle. He nearly killed himself on several occasions.

There's no excess like wretched excess...

Besides, it's got wings. Maybe it's less motorcycle, more airplane.

Dibs on the first wrecked one to do a SmartCar engine transplant...

It might be the last ride I ever take, but 300 bhp in a 500lbs package sounds like one helluva good time on the track.

I wonder if your buddy and my brother are the same guy. He's in Madison, and wrecked his GSXR back in 2002.

Haha, nope, this guy's short lived run with his gsxr was in 2012 in Chicago. Only person I've known to get their license suspended twice in under a year. Kid has more speeding tickets than anyone I've ever met.

I would think that people getting way too fast of bikes and crashing them is a somewhat common scenario sadly.

A friend of mine builds custom bike frames. He buys wrecked hyabusas on ebay for engines/parts. He may be interested in this.

I never understood the race to more horsepower... it only takes one horse to move a person.

I think, perhaps, that there are other persons with less confidence in the adequacy of their selves and of their selves' physical attributes than your self. Such persons often compensate for lack of said adequacy through excessive purchases, consciously or unconsciously designed to divert attention from perceived inadequate attributes.

... while other persons just use big words ...

That's crazy. I'm perfectly happy with something like a Honda SuperCub.

My streetbike makes about 115 hp, and yeah, that's more than enough.

My race bike only puts out about 28 ponies, and that's plenty fun!

My wife and I use this gesture and call it TPS (Tiny Pen?$ Syndrome) in reference to this same condition.
