Has anyone else noticed that no matter how hard Paul Schaeffer plays on his keyboards, on the David Letterman show, you never actually hear it ? You can clearly hear the rest of the musicians, but Paul's keyboards....are they plugged in at all ?

Maelstrom 04-06-05 12:37 AM

Maybe he plays a bigger part in choroegraphy of the music :)

brokenrobot 04-06-05 09:38 AM

Nah. He's just there because the wacky liberals in TV Land got played by the bald-advocacy lobby.

Actually Paul is a great keyboardist.

That might be true, but on the Letterman show you never hear those keyboards. I am a sound engineer by profession and every time I see him bang on those keys, I cannot help but reach for my "air fader" and push it up. Maybe his keyboards are censored on trans Atlantic broadcasts...

Is it true that Paul Schaeffer wrote the song "Its raining men"

Not better than John Tesh! I think David needs to replace Paul with John. That would be way cool!

:D ;)

Always with the Tesh...Tesh Tesh Tesh. At least Paul (usually) knows not to open his mouth and try to sing. Besides Paul is Canadian.

poululla 04-06-05 01:52 PM

Didn't John Tesh write some music for the Tour de France on American TV. Do I remember correctly that he even did some co-commentating (cycling related) in the 80's ?

Thanks for the Paul Schaeffer info, but I still believe those keyboards are plugged out ;) :D

Guest 04-06-05 03:52 PM

John Tesh did a whole Tour de France CD in 1988. He used to be a reporter for Entertainment Tonight.

He's a tall handsome dude too, don't much care for his new agie music. Many like it, and he is very talented.

I like Paul Schaeffer, great style about him.

ChezJfrey 04-06-05 05:13 PM

Paul played keys for a guy by the name of Robert Plant in a band called the Honeydrippers....of course Robert is better known for his vocals in Led Zeppelin.

Guest 04-06-05 08:04 PM

Good God! The Honeydrippers! I missed getting the Led out when I heard those songs... Paul must have cursed the band or something. :p

It's hooked up to the laugh machine. No human would laugh at Letterman.

Hmm, I kinda got the impression you were middle aged...
(Ok, that smiley is a bit over the top for this statement, but it's the only one with open eyes... :) )

She's actually 13 years old. She refuses to participate in PE class and forges doctor's notes so she can skip out of class to watch Betamax recordings of Entertainment Tonight.
