Can you remember how many homes you've lived in?

My wife and I were counting up how many places we've lived in together (age 25 and up). So far we're up to seven (7).

Four (4) in Saskatchewan
Two (2) in Ontario
One (1) in Alberta

These don't include our childhood homes.

Just curious if this is average, below or above average? How about you guys?

I've been rather nomadic ...

By the time I was 13, I had lived in Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, back to Alberta where I lived in 6 different places in the same town, back to Saskatchewan, back to Alberta where I lived in three different towns. 13 places in 13 years.

Then I sort of settled a bit ... over the next 11 years I stayed in the same town, but lived in 3 different places there.

Then I moved to Winnipeg and lived in two places there, but I actually stayed in the second place for a full 13 years. Wow!! So far that's a record for me.

So we're up to 17 places ...

Back to Alberta again where I lived 3 places over the next 5 years.

Then off to Australia, and here I've lived 6 different places in the past 5 years.

I think that's 26 places in 47 years.

Plus ... I spent 3 months in Australia between Winnipeg and Alberta travelling all over the place. And 8 months just recently travelling all over the world. Both of those times I gave up the place I was renting and put everything into storage. So I guess I was "living" wherever I happened to be because I didn't have a "home".

I should add "we" in there because Rowan joined me somewhere in the midst of all that.

There have been six (6) in and around Tulsa and includes (2) apartments, (1) mobile home, and (3) houses. This doesn't include the apartment I was sharing with a friend at the time I met my wife back in '98.

Age 25 and up, I lived in 3 different houses so far. I was able to visit, 35 years later, a previous house that my parents owned, I remembered it as being fairly large as a child, and wondered why my parents sold it, only to discover how really small it was as an adult.

23, including childhood residences. Dad was in the AF, so we moved around a lot.

Excludes current situation, where I have 3 domiciles and an impending 4th: a legal street address at an apt where I visit but don't stay; eat and bathe at another apartment; sleep in a van; and am building a small cabin in which to live.

Google Earth is fun for tracking down where one used to live... except when you find out that not just the house, but a whole neighborhood has been demolished, like our former home at Edwards AFB.

Four places since fall 2003.

Six places between fall 1999 and summer 2003 (university).

Four places during childhood, one I am too young to recall.

In total three states and two provinces. Both in Illinois, Nj, then NY, then BC , then ON and now back to BC.

2 houses in Casa Grande the first 3 yrs. At least that's what they told me.
Moved to Maricopa stayed in a duplex
Moved back to Casa Grande stayed in the same house until
We moved to Flagstaff at the end of my 4th grade school year. At first we lived in an apt but couldn't afford it. So we moved into the forest and camped out for the rest of the summer. It was great! Well for us kids.
Before school started Mom made Dad find us a house to live in. So we moved to Phoenix. That was '66. I lived there until '80.
In '80 I went to grad school at U of A in Tucson. Lived in an apt there until '87.
In '87 I moved to Safford for my job.
'88 moved to Show Low for the same job.
Late in '88 I quit my job and moved back in with my parents in Phoenix.
From '90 to '94 I lived in 3 different apts.
In '94 I bought the house I am now living in.

Looks like 14 depending on whether I can count apts and the tent in Flagstaff.

Assuming only 1 before the age of 3 it comes out to 10 places.

That is counting company paid housing in Texas for only 2 or 3 months. It includes housing in college too, which was only 2 places. Not counting different rooms in the same building as different places.
