That's very sad. Condolences.

But I thought they had 9 lives?

More sadness, and you've been through too much of that lately. I'm sorry, remember the good times you had with her.

Blondie has been standing guard on Annie's grave, by the way. She misses her too. She's plopped down whimpering where Earlena laid Annie to rest. She's buried deep with a layer of Rip ap stone in a cairn under the dirt and turf topping so she won't be dug up. One of our neighbors made her a cat sized oak coffin, too and padded it with velvet and Annie has her favorite squeak mouse in with her.

Problem with our furry family members... they just die too soon. I have lost many a wonderful companion who enriched my life. My current buddy is 9 and healthy but you never know... when his time comes, it will hurt be terribly as we are very close. Hoping I don't sound like some weird ole cat lady... but I do love my critters and it hurts when they pass on...

Animals have such short lives so that we can know more of them.
