Speaking of stomp, with the slightest malfunction that thing could destroy a lot of bikes. But it is way cool.

I think the guy pictured must be the "porter" or "velo valet" who puts the bikes into the apparatus, to prevent any mishaps due to improper loading.

I'd engineer a manual backup of some kind, to use mechanical and muscle power in the event of a power failure or a jamup (ouch). Perhaps that is in the design.
