Sayings translated to a foreign language and (directly) back

I'll start with 4 translated to danish and back.

A spanner in the works
Danish: a stick in the wheel

A jack of all trades
Danish: a squid

Home is where the heart is
Danish: away is good, but home is best

A fly in the ointment
Danish: owls in the marsh

Please provide (maby funny) english sayings for me or other foreigners to translate.

A stitch in time saves nine.
Danish: A stitch in time saves a lot of woe. (had to look it up, it exists in danish but it's rarely used, I like it a lot)

Look before you leap.
Does not exists in danish, but a candidate could be: Think before you speak.

Pull your socks up.
Danish: Pull yourself by the scruff of the neck.
