My brief interaction with him was when I started the "New and Imrpoved Hot or Not Thread" in the Road forum. A foolish endeavor no doubt. He PM'd me that it would be an interesting "experiment" given his background in psychology and interest in seeing how it panned out. It was then that I clicked on his profile and learned more about him. Needless to say it was inspirational and as a "cyclist" that does this for two reasons (1) mental balance, and (2) fitness he was someone I wish I had the opportunity to know better. In the brief moment I was blessed to know him, I am thankful for the opportunity. I am humbled by his story and memory. God Bless You Tom.

Tom,

I wish I had the opportunity to meet you in real life. Your vivacious persona and tenacity for life, despite the circumstances, rang clear through the black and white text on this forum that we all share.

You somehow managed to wrangle-in and make sense of all the nonsense of these forums with unyielding logic and a warm heart, full of empathy.

Even though we have never met in person, it feels like we have been friends for years. And I'm sad you're gone.

Until the next time, good sir.

I never got to know Tom, but I am sorry that I never personally thanked him for giving me this priceless learning and sharing resource. Maintaining order and civility in a forum on any subject is a huge challenge. I am grateful that Tom kept us all under control for so long and made this a "safe" place for newbies and experienced riders alike.

Thank you, Tom.

I just checked in here after some time not following the forums. Am very sad to hear of Tom's passing. I had little interplay with him, but
truly appreciated his balanced outlook and adult supervision!

A send-off that was written for my friend Gary Dudley seems appropriate here:
"May you find a smooth road, downhill;
with no railroad tracks."

Condolences to Tom's family and his many friends.

I think Tom has reached the top of the last hill, and he can see home now.

God bless.

Rest in peace.

I always found Tom to be a kind, nice, wise person, with a level head and a big heart. He was such a huge part of what made this site so great.

RIP, Sir, and condolences to his loved ones.

Toms words of encouragement as I dealt with my weight and then double bypass surgery kept me on the bike.
With that in mind, each ride I will bring you along, each hill, each sprint..you will be there with me.
