A Toast: To Tom Stormcrowe!

In the tradition of the Irish wake, let us remember our departed friend with the best toasts we can muster.

To Tom: A great guy, an inspiration to many, and a dedicated friend of the forum. May you see nothing but tailwinds, my friend.

I guess we needed a bigger dynamo connected to generate more FOO Power...

I'll raise a small measure of a 17 yo Japanese whisky I have been saving.

May those who love you, love you.
And for those that do not love you,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He does not turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So you will know them by their limping.

Godspeed to you kind sir. You were a man among men and you will be missed.

Here's to a man who will be missed for many reasons and many years. I'll give him a proper toast when I get home, green tea won't do here.

I thought of Tom last night as I told my wife about him over three fingers of Jack Daniels.

Tom is gone and gone too soon. There is no more Tom but in our memories. For a moment we can keep him alive. When I open the refrigerator door and close it again, taking nothing. When we politely insist on the facts. When we dream grand dreams. And most of all, when we lend a hand. To quote Douglas Adams, Tom would "take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day."

Tom was a dear friend I've never met. He was the only person I even allowed to follow me on Google+ which says a lot because I HATE that thing. I'm shaking like I lost a family member.

Many of you remember Brian well. I came in under Tom's guidance. This site was excellent already, and Tom made it an AUTHORITY.

And something I have to confess.

Tom MADE me a Titanium Club Member. It was an honor, I'm bawling...

He asked me to MODERATE...I didn't think I'd be a good enough moderator. He understood but was a little bummed.

You never think about things enough before you can't.

I just got here after a few days. I'm so sorry.

God Bless You

May ye be in Heaven a half hour before the Devil knows you are dead.

I'll toast him again with some Glenlivet when I get home.
