Upgrading membership is impossible without linking a CC to your PP account. Seriously? Come on admins, there must be some workaround. Can't be the only one who finds this absurd...

Isn't there a slight delay for checking account withdrawals, but lower fees???
Anyway, a "bounced check" wouldn't be the end of the world for a voluntary electronic service.

The "link a credit card" screen pops up before an actual payment can be made. Balance is positive of course. I use PP from time to time and I've never encountered this before. Makes sense to me that PP is looking to extend their reach so to say but why would BF be helping them?

One of the reasons I didn't join - payment policy is not friendly, and I refuse to use paypal, because of a previous problem with them..

I got my credit card hacked the end of January. What a pain. I discovered and reported it within about 2 days. The bank said it could take a few weeks to get my refund, then after waiting over a month, they claimed that I had called in to cancel the claim, but couldn't give me any details on the supposed cancellation.

Unfortunately, I'll probably never know where the "leak" occurred.

Anyway, it seems to be one of those things that nobody seems to care enough to actually work on fixing the inherent security problems.

At least with PayPal, only one vendor gets your credit card/bank account info, and the rest just get the money transfer from PayPal.
