Problems with Chrome & Firefox via XP Pro
 

Chrome 49.0.2623.xxxx (32 bit): Can't log-in, says BF site is insecure, lacks protocols.

Firefox 51.0.1 (32 bit) : Viewing posts you encounter missing text, missing links. Sometimes the entire post is empty space.

I am running these browsers on XP Pro. Not having similar problems on Win 10. AdBlocker is disabled.

Has the BF become XP unfriendly?

You do realize that newer FF versions don't really work well with XP?


And that you're expecting a lot from an OS with ties to the late 1990s? 16 years since it's original release?


If you can log in from modern OS versions and browsers then you can assume that you are out of luck with yours and XP?


You should stick to using it offline and I can't remember offhand if any IE above 9 works on it.

I appreciate the response, yes, I believe I am using one of the older versions of FF, and with Chrome you don't have an options. And, you are stuck with an XP version of IE.

But really.. I am running 3 XP Pro machines along side 3 Win 10 machines, the XP Pro machines are day to day faster, more flexible and more user friendly. Newer is not necessarily better my friend.

To date, only two websites seems to reject these XP & Browser configuration are Sling & the BF.

If this website is to be anti-XP, then so be it...

We recently switched to https for the site. Make sure any old bookmarks are updated and be sure to clear your cache and cookies for the site
