Two screen grabs and full url on first
This for me has been going on a very long time. 5-6 weeks I think.
When I post the url code below it previews as a link. Not sure if adding this helps?
Yes always on iPhone or iPad only and only this site for me.
Amazon.com - Congratulations!!

With my iphone and safari browser I open up the multi-window list in the lower right of the screen and x-close the offending screen. That’s the only wayI’ve found to kill the offenders. When it happens on a desktop I try to use the control-alt-delete and close from the control panel. Some advertising apps are extremely adept in their persistence and aggressiveness. I never hit the close or unsubscribe options because I just assume those buttons are also scam-enabled when those ads take over the window.

Are you signed in? I thought our premium membership nixed ads?
Anyway...I never see any of these...then again my mobile (Chrome Beta)has an adblocker and script/malware/popup blocker running...and my Surface and desktop (Chrome Canary) have 4 or 5 script-blockers and tracker blockers and adblock filters running.
Makes me wonder if this is an Apple specific script.

No, but extra cross-site scripting can lead straight to malware or viruses.
MTBR and RBR were both haunted by a bitcoin miner script (loaded from ads we suspect)...some of us noted our machines were running hotter than usual--and it was because someone was using a CPU core of our machines for Monopoly Money farming. MTBR took it down quick, RBR took 3 weeks for someone to be home and admin it away.

They were plaguing me on the iPhone last summer, but I haven't seen it for a few months now.

This has been an ongoing problem with this forum for at least 2 years now. I've reported it on several occasions, with thunderous silence.
Basically, one or more of the ad networks that bikeforums lets serve ads has one or more ad providers that isn't on the up-and-up. It's a matter of chance as to when one of those ads finally gets chosen to be shown. Once loaded, it executes a variety of exploit scripts to hijack the browser. Usually to load some sort of ransomware type "you've been infected" "please call this number to purchase the fix" type of thing, or "You're a winner" while also trying to load some sort of file trawler program in the background. I had it happen in updated versions of Firefox, and Chrome, and something similar on my Android phone.
By logging all traffic through my router, I was able to provide the hostnames of 3-4 of the attack sites, as well as the triggering ads. BF admins response.... ...Crickets.
The true fix would be to fire / sever ties with that / those ad networks if they don't care to clean up their customers. Obviously, they either don't care, or the shady networks simply pay too much.
The only (crappy) fix I've found is to pony up for the premium membership. That removes the ads, and eliminates the problem. I bristle at the low level extortion, but I find the content and community here to be worth it.

The other "fix" is to run software such as NoScript, at least on the PC versions.
Bike Forums can host their own ads if they wish... but that isn't the choice they've made, and thus have given up control over their ad stream.

I was able to Prevent this
I downloaded FireFox Focus on my iDevices. I then turned on use content blocker in the Safari Settings and set it to Firefox Focus and I have been using this site for over a week and no more amazon and iPhone ads.

I hope the owners of this site realize how much money comments like this and their inaction in dealing with spam ads costs them. Not only will no one want to spend money on membership but also legitimate ads are getting zero traffic because the redirects keep people from even seeing the legit ads.
