Upload photos question

I don't think this is actually a BF issue as much as about how to work a photo so it'll upload.

I can't upload a jpg because (I believe) it's too large at 1650 x 2200 pixels. So if that's the issue, how do I reduce the pixels? Is there some easy trick?

I'm running Windows 10, so maybe there's some sort of photo editor in the trashware. If not, I found something I can download for free. Has anyone used Movavi? Can it do what I need? Or can anyone recommend a free or dirt cheap photo editor I can download. How about Gimp?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've been using a free program called Photoscape for a few years. It has super easy/mostly automated ways to reduce image size, either the physical size (in pixels) or the weight (in number of bytes used). Free, easy and intuitive.

I doubt they got rid of Microsoft "Paint" it's been around forever. it's very limited but I use it for quick resizing. top left toolbar there's a "resize" button. go wild

think I'm running Windows 7 & the program has always been available by clicking on the Windows logo at the bottom left corner of the screen. left click once & the program is at the top of the list

have fun!

BTW if I double click on a photo, it open in Windows Live Photo Gallery. if I click "edit" on toolbar it opens in a modest editing window. useful for editing exposure, color, sharpening & cropping. but ludicrously not resizing. program does a good job bringing up details in shadows

Yes, the free Paint program included w/ Windows 10 has a Resize push button, followed by a Pixels radio button, that permits fast / easy image resizing.

My preference is 800x600 for posting forum images.
