Photographs
Can you send a photograph from your device's library in a private message? I do not see a "manage your attachments" button...Thanks,mjac

All of the new photographs are going to your "gallery/album" page.
You can follow the links to "Gallery" in the menu to find it. Then once you have it, just remember the link in a way that is convenient. I've taught Firefox to pop it up when I start typing "G".
In your case:
@mjac's Album:

You then pick out your favorite picture in the album. Follow the links till you get to the final popup, then right click and "copy image location".
You can create sub-albums, as well as uploading photos independent from posting messages. However, everything you upload will be moderately visible to everyone.
I think if you click on the photo button it will insert it into your message. I tend to like to simply wrap image tags around it:

The one caveat is that for smaller images, right clicking may not work. In which case, I will right-click and select "View Page Info". Select "Media", find the image, and copy the link.
