Is there a way that I can make the old, plain-text editor the default for my profile? The WYSIWYG editor takes a long time to load on my old, slow machine, and if there are any pictures in a comment I'm replying to, they take up so much screen real-estate I have to scroll around to find where to enter my text.
Yeah, I know I can click on the [SOURCE] button to get the plain text version once the WYSIWYG version finally finishes loading, but if there's a way for my profile to default to plain text, I'd really prefer that.
Thanks…

If you go to "Edit Options" under your profile:
https://www.bikeforums.net/profile.php?do=editoptions
About halfway down, you get: "Message Editor Interface" & "Basic Editor - A simple text box"
That knocks out all the shortcuts and everything (which I think were mostly gone under "SOURCE" anyway.
So, it is fine if you're pretty good with BB code.

Curiously, the text on the "Message Editor Interface" settings says "there are three interface types available to you," but I only see two: the "Basic Editor - a simple text box" and the "Enhanced Interface - Full CKEditor Editing." Is there a third option?

Thanks. That seemed to work, although it is a bit more spare than even the previous non-WYSIWYG editor. Perhaps a suggestion to the vBulletin developers could be a button on all the editor interfaces to toggle between them on an ad hoc basis without having to go back to the profile settings. Clicking [SOURCE] from the WYSIWYG interface left the various buttons for links, pictures, fonts, etc. available; those are absent in the "Basic Editor."

It would be nice to default to "Source" mode, but have the option to swap back to WYSIWYG, although my guess is that both interfaces would still need to be loaded into memory.
Or, perhaps to get the version from a few months ago.
@IBJoel will have to answer why 3 options are mentioned, but only 2 show up, but it is probably related to an evolution over time, or a documentation error.
One issue that I periodically encounter is that I'll get a basic text editing window when a page is first loaded. I'll start typing. Then, when WYSIWYG mode finally loads, zap, everything I just typed is GONE.

Yeah, that's one of the annoyances I hope to avoid by using the simple text editor.
