Embedded YouTube Videos are Invisible
I noticed that in the past week or so, embedded videos are utterly invisible when using my iPhone/Safari. It was not ever an issue in the past.
Whats really interesting is occasionally they are not invisible but when I reload the page they are.
Works fine on desktop.
Anyone else notice this, and more importantly, any fix forthcoming??

I have the same bug in Safari on my desktop. Reload doesn't always show the video. It seems to be related to Apple security somehow.

I am still having this problem. I am guessing that BF will say it’s YouTube’s fault and YouTube will say it’s BikeForums’ fault. And they will both say it’s Safari’s fault.
Other than switching my iPhone browser from the default Safari to Chrome, any other suggestions or fixes?

I've been having this issue with a win11 pc and edge browser. But only very randomly and occasionally after doing certain things like making a reply to that thread. But certainly even very random for that. Refreshing the page or getting out and coming back in helps. Haven't checked this with Chrome or any other browser yet.
Just posting this as FYI that it has been experienced on a PC.

Hi everyone. I am aware of this issue, and it is seen on some of IB's other sites. Because it is so random, and happens to certain people not consistently, it is hard to track and replicate. I've been following this same issue that's been happening on another site, and have sent it to our tech team, and i've been told there's just not enough information.
What I can suggest is to use the desktop version of the site when viewing on your mobile devices, clearing your cache, or quoting the post (this will oftentimes show the youtube video link).
So sorry there isn't much more I can do to help.
As a test, please let me know if you're able to view this video:

IBkatherine ,
The video was there right from the start when just re-entered this thread. However browsing the forums after making my earlier reply here I again saw a new thread that read as if there were embedded youtube videos, but none showed. Even trying to swipe my mouse pointer over the area to see if there was any text or links that were the same color as the background didn't show anything there.
I was in a hurry though with other things to do. Next time I run into that I'll try to view the page source code and inspect it for any errors that might be happening.
Edit... and still there after entering this reply, which sometimes they've disappeared after making a reply.

I just got out and came back in today. The video was there the first time and gone the next....

I can't readily tell if any of the errors and issues in that show up are significant to the problem. They look pretty generic to me. And I'm in no way even remotely competent for even understanding much of what it's telling me.

I mostly use BF at home on my laptop and Youtube vids I've not been able to see here for months, including the one posted by admin above. I just get a blank screen (using Chrome).
I've just tried on my mobile, also using Chrome, and I can see the link.

However for a normal Edge browser window, it is starting to be very consistent that when I first come into this thread I can see the video. However, leaving the thread then immediately reentering the video is gone. And that is whether using the "Back to Subforum" button at the bottom or clicking the link in the path line near the top of the page.
If I go out and then go in and out of several other sub-forums and then come back here, I can see the video. However, exiting the thread to the previous level then getting back into the thread the video is gone. Again, this is only for the normal browser mode.

I don't see them more often than I do. But if I quote the post and then hit the back button the vid will appear.
Using a private (incognito) browser screen doesn't make a difference.
