Logged ON Error Message
Hello,
I keep getting this garbage error message either when posting or attempting to add photos. Photo upload starts and t hen bombs before completion.
I have NOT logged on and reloading the window does nothing!
Also, receiving this massage will also DELETE what you just spent half an hour typing!
Please fix this.
Thanks,
Steve

I'm with Steve. Going off to get lunch shouldn't bork your message composition. (It also seems the auto-save feature frequently fails to save your Pulitzer Prize-winning compositions in many cases.)

In my experience, this has—unfortunately—always been how the forum software has worked. I suspect there is some sort of heuristic in the code which reclaimed some internal resources after a period of inactivity. I get that you don't want to keep partial posts around forever, but the system could probably use a much longer timeout. At the very least, the partial post's contents should be auto-saved.

When the timeout happened to you, were you using a personal computer or a work computer? Oftentimes when that timeout happens, you can use the back button to navigate back to the post you were writing.

This is a home windows system. All I had to do was try to post or hit "Go Advanced" and the error would pop up I don't recall the back button being effective other than confirming that VBulletin just ate my post!
