Are y'all seeing this warning on a specific BF page or on some/most/all pages?

I get it the first time I access the site in a new browser window. Even though Malwarebytes only throws up the warning box once, it is blocking that same URL each time I access a new page.

The reduced functionality (removing quote notifications) is one thing. Not being able to trust the site itself is quite another.

Apparently it's there to support old browsers. The person that originally wrote it says it's not necessary.

But it reminds me of this video since nobody has actually identified malware delivered by this means.

Yet. In IT security, we try to plug holes and eliminate vulnerabilities, BEFORE something bad happens.

Agreed IB should get rid of it. Along with the other 100000 websites that have this vulnerability. But it's amazing how many people here have ancient browsers, so there may be complaining.

It only was recognized as a vulnerability in late June 2024. Wasn't it?

Programs don't always allow you to rip something out willy nilly and hope that everything else works.

Tech is working on a fix now. I'll update when I hear back.

At first I thought it was only the first time I accessed the site, but it appears after that too as I navigate to different pages. I can't say I've tried to identify which pages do or do not throw up that warning.

That's alright. Tech was already planning on removing polyfill prior to me bringing this up to them- so it's somewhat perfect timing. I'll update once it is done.

Polyfill has been removed- the warning message shouldn't pop up now.
