How come you can't see who's on the forum anymore?

How come you can't see who's on the forum anymore?
The handles of registered users currently logged on used to be displayed near the bottom right of each subforum. That's gone now. How come?

The whos online feature was a major server killer. I'll turn that back on soon to see if the new kernal can keep up with it.
