Problem with Cookies?

For some reason, the forum is listing posts as "new" even though I've seen them 20 times. Also, many threads are shown in bold, signifying new posts, when in fact I have either a) read through all the posts or b) selected the option to mark thread as read. I have checked my cookie settings and everything is fine - all other sites work perfectly. Any ideas?

What browser and OS? Do you have any 3rd party software installed that may edit, block or change cookies?

I double checked all cookie settings, and everything looks fine. I am unable to recreate any problems you described.

WinXP Pro SP2
Firefox 1.5.0.7

McAfee might be conflicting, but I don't think so as I don't have issues with any other sites.

Happens to me sometimes but not all the time. Possibly a glitch with Firefox as I also use Firefox although not the version you are using.

I noticed a simular issue last night browsing on my laptop, threads would be bold, even though I was the last one to post!

WinXP Pro SP2, IE(current version), Google toolbar, not much else.

Doesn't appear to be happening today on the work machine (same software profile)

I have an opposite sort of problem. The cookies for Bike Forums reset themselves frequently while I'm browsing the forums. I'll go to click on the next sub-forum and it will only show threads updated since I've been on the forums as new. If I don't have much time to cruise the forums it's pretty aggravating.

I'm using Windows XP with Firefox 1.5.0.7 .

I thought 1.5.0.7 was the most recent version. Cookies are allowed for originating site only, which I can't see as a problem. I've had other forums reset the cookies if I spend too much time sidetracked on another site, but Bike Forums has been the only site where they reset while I'm browsing.
