If you are using photobucket, click on IMG and paste it directly into your message.

martslc: Actually just find that tree icon in the composing window and use that routine, pasting it in with the URL tab. Paste the URL (file address) of the image in and insert. Google or any other site you post photos to in a collection are called 'photo hosts'. You can copy the properties of an image on another site and paste them in the same way. Just right click on the image (if it allows you to) and choose Properties from that menu (in IE, I don't know Apple or others) then drag over and copy the URL listed to that window.
It's a crapshoot other ways. If the image is on your computer, not hosted use the computer tab, click on Browse and locate the image file then click on it and hit the button to insert that file address into the window and then upload and I recommend the basic uploader option over the one shown by default in the first place for simplicity...you do them one at a time and avoid confusion if you are new to it. If your file is really large it may take a long time to upload and appear in your composing window, or you may get an error message that the file is too large, which means you will have to reduce the file size or resolution. You can do this simply using PAINT in Windows. Use Resize and choose Pixels and shoot for something around 800 x 600 pixels or less (if it's vertical that's 600 x 800). Also try to set your digital camera/phone to a lower resolution in the first place as 2592 x 1960 or whatever is going to be maybe 2 or more MB and will not get along with vBulletin very well. 800 x 600 is a large picture that will upload well, and vB should reduce it to a thumbnail anyway. The only way you will get actual sized images is to use a host or copy from another site and use the URL tab. |

See manage attachments or if you have a source where you can host pics, use the IMG tags for example
For this:http://img196.exs.cx/img196/1492/hpim10104mz.gif You [IMG] Magazine de presse & actualité | EXS [/IMG] Minus the the spaces between ] and h and the space between f and [. Attaching an image is quite simple. Hit the reply button(The one that is in red) to get the proper reply screen, then scroll down, you will see a section that says manage attachments. |

Test using Google Photos, an estimable tool that has been subject to a good deal of thrash lately by Mr. Google.

The first two were MOOT, the last two were a MOOTS.
I think the problem lies in the URL you are trying to use. Right click on the image (Windows) and choose Properties, then roll over that URL in the window that comes up. The oddest thing about THIS vB platform was that you have to be SIGNED OUT to see a PICTURE and not a LINK. Now I have to do that to see if that is still the case. EDIT way off in the future: My problem was a setting that defaulted when the latest platform launched, much to my eternal chagrin. |
Wow, there was even a JC Penney ad overlaid on the last picture. Closed that ad...thinking it was Photobucket's doing.
