New Forum Request: Shaft Drive/Chainless bikes

I would like to have a forum for shaft drive and chainless bikes. There are very few bike shops that have any experience with these beasties. It would be very helpful to have a place to draw on the collective knowledge of the Bike Forums community.

Thanks!

There is a google group to discuss Dynamic Bicycles for anyone interested.

There are a few threads in Commuting about shaft drive bicycles.

I suspect that BikeForums has, if anything, too many individual sub-sections rather than too few!

Spot on, Tez, spot on.

I own a shaft drive bike (or rather, my wife does), and the shop that we bought it from closed.

I see no need for a shaft drive subforum, as there would only be 2 or 3 people in it, and the drive mechanisms were designed to be maintenance free (at least Biomega's drive mechanisms were). The rest of the bike is pretty much identical to any other bike out there.

It's too small a group for even a subforum, sad to say. I do feel your pain, though. I have to follow at least 5 forums to keep up with internal hub gearing topics around here. Ah well, such is life. It is a nice way to come across unexpected yet interesting topics.

Beat down delivered. :)

Hey, no worries. Keep those suggestions coming. :)

servicing shaft drive no biggie

What's up with all the whiners? Shaft drive bicycles are simple to service. Just look at the schematic and dive in! Airless tires are great too!
