WOT: This site has a poor reputation

I updated my firefox brwser and included addon WOT. I do have some irritating pop ups going on when browsing BF that's why I updated. Well, it does not seem to help - pop ups and annoying pages still appear.
Any tips. Oh and regarding the header: this is the latest popup/signal coming from the add-on... grrrr.

I never have any troubles anywhere.

In FF I have popups blocked (Tools, Options, Content, check the "Block popups" box).

I use Adblock Plus and NoScript. With NoScript, I enable scripts on sites where I want them, for instance, here. YOu can't post without scripts enabled.

Things like WOT just rub me the wrong way. I don't like anyone telling me what I can and cannot do, or what I can and cannot see. I also have a huge mistrust of of anyone who says, "Trust me."

Finally, I don't like people monitoring what I visit. From WOT's Privacy Policy, "While using the Licensed Software it sends information about the identifier, the date and time of the request and the host name for each site you visit to Against Intuition servers for identifying the visited web sites and retrieving their rating information."

Drop Firefox and get Safari for Windows. Smokin' browser, hands down.
Opera is good, also, but Safari kicks ass.

No problems here with Firefox. Faster than it used to be.

Didn't realize AdBlock was a Firefox add on. Boy, does it work. Really speeds up BF.

A red star seems to help a lot.

Buying a red star was a great idea when Joe owned the site; now that Internet Brands owns the site and refuses to fix the many known problems I certainly wouldn't advocate buying a membership. They also changed the membership from 32 years to an annual membership.

Safari is still faster and has no add ons. Seriouslly.
The ads make no difference at all. I have 4 browsers installed, and FF is one of them. Safari is the best of the bunch.

I am finished. Carry on.

Safari has no ad blocker. Therefore, safari sucks.
Google Chrome has no ad blocker. Therefore Google Chrome sucks.

No ad blocker = suck. Ads are the least controlled part of any web site, and tend to be portals for all kinds of interesting attacks. No ads. Never.

Even though Safari has no ad blocker, it's still better. Your version of 'sucks' is lame. All the other browsers are just lame.

Nyah. ;-)

A 'Yellow Jersey' seems to do an admirable job of getting rid of the sales' pitches. Even on lowly, nasty, worthless ol' Firefox. Maybe I'll go back to IE7.....NOT!

I have WOT and it comes up green. Which means it's trustworthy, has good vendor reliability, is child safe and has good privacy.

No other issues -- no popups when I sign out into lurk mode.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I maintain a test login ID with no subscription to monitor ads, and have no pop up issues as long as my Ad Block and Popup Blocker is engaged with FF3. I also use IE and Safari with no issues. my suggestion would be to run a malware scan and see if you have a bit of that sneaky spyware on your drives.

What is WOT? I also use FF3, and I have IE8 installed for those sites which insist on IE. Including my super-secure work intranet, which will not work properly on FF - unless you lower the security settings!

I've tried Safari, but I didn't get on with it, and I tried Chrome, but I prefer the customisability of FF. I second Tom Stormcrowe's suggestion that you scan for malware.

This site has been the least of my problems for a long time. IE7 and fully updated.

It's the SEARCH that should apply for SSI!

Oh Well
