Text entry problem in quick reply box

When entering a reasonably lengthy response in the quick reply box, I've noticed that the text scrolls completely off the page for some time until it reaches the end of the right hand margin setting before dropping down to start a second line at the left margin of the entry box. Anyone else noticed this?
