Bikeforums.net still dropping posts

The forum is still dropping reply posts. Randomly, but frequently, I will write a response to a post, hit "submit", and the screen goes to "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".

Yes, yes, yes, the BF webguys like to blame it on Internet Explorer, but I changed one of my other computers' browser and the BF site still has bugs.

Can you imagine visiting a website with a post on the welcome page that says "This site does not work with Internet Explorer browser". IE is still one of the most widely used browsers.

All these problems are silly. Why not just get someone who knows how to build/fix websites to fix the problems? If this was a plumbing problem, the house would have been washed away by now.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS copy your message before posting so you don't have to retype it when you have to try to post it a second or third time. I had to do that before this forum change, but it got worse after the forum change.

The new feature Rowan and I are coming across are cropped posts ... the post will appear to post, but only half of it is there.

Ya, I suppose I could copy my posts before I post them. In fact, I have started to do that, but it is starting to seem a lot more like work than play.

If there is one silver lining, it is that I am encouraged to stay off of Bike Forums and get other stuff done.

PS: I had to re-post this message because it was dropped too!

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I've brought this to the attention of the guys in Tech. Thanks. If I don't immediately answer on these, it's because it's finals time, and all, so feel free to PM me as a followup if I don't respond quickly.

Thanks,
Tom

Part of the problem is that there are so many variables, as in what has the company you work for disabled in IE, it works differently in different setups, if you follow me. Some companies have disabled features critical to proper display.

Is there a IE configuration file JanMM (et al.) can send to you? (Ask the devs.)
