Forum problems?

I'm seeing some weirdness on my laptop whenever I get on these forums and I can't seem to trace it. I figured I'd ask in case anybody else can relate to what I'm seeing.

I'm using the latest Firefox on Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit. Everything else works fine except this site. At times I'll try to post a reply, and instead of it registering and submitting accordingly, it'll ask me if I want to open or save "newreply.php." I have my nose in some very light duty web tech stuff so I figured the cache was causing an issue, so I emptied it. In fact, I emptied EVERYTHING in my Firefox preferences/saved info/cache/cookies/etc. Same deal.

I tried to post earlier and got "newthread.php" when I tried to make this thread, so it backfired. But here 2 hours later, magically it let me submit a reply to another thread, so here I am trying my luck to see if I can post this thread.

*cringe*

Debian Lenny 32-bit with FF 3.5.8, no issues here.

The only weird issue I get is when the last word of a line is repeated on the next line. Doesn't happen all the time--but most of the time.

For some reason the Ads by Google are covering up the OP's at the top of the page today.

I've talked to some users who do web design for a living, and they suggested that it sounds like a forum issue and not my laptop... I'm not so sure of that though because what's strange is I have no issues here at home on my desktop.

What's even stranger is my desktop setup is IDENTICAL to my laptop...

Desktop - Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit w/ Firefox 3.6.8
Laptop - Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit w/ Firefox 3.6.8

If it's affecting one and not the other, I'd suggest it's a setting in your laptop. I'll place the issue in tasking though.

I never had ads over the OP until the ads showed up and got over the OP though.

That's about as obvious as Linda Blair's failed flight lesson with Damien.

Still, I'm not seeing the problem now. Are you?

ibsteph 08-04-10 10:45 AM

It should have been fixed

Rollfast 08-04-10 10:10 PM

It has been, and remains so. Thank you.
