Always need to double click links in IE ???
Just wondering if this problem is specific to my computer, or if others have noticed the same thing.
When I click on a BF link in IE, I always need to click the link a second time to get to the page. If I only click on it once, it takes up to 30 seconds before it goes to the page. The first click always shows in the status bar that it's "waiting for response from Bike Forums".
I also noticed that if I first click on one link, then click on a different BF link, then it goes immediately to the second link page.
Any ideas? Note - this ONLY happens in Bike Forums. I've never had an issue with any other site, or discussion board.
My IE version:
Internet Explorer 9.0 (version 9.0.8112.16421)
When I use any other browser (ie: Chrome), I don't have this problem.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Btw Tom, I should mention that this has been happening for at least a year. I've just been too lazy to report it till now. I didn't want you guys to think it was due to the recent BF's upgrade.

Yesterday I updated to IE 9.0 on my computer and now I'm having the same problems. Having to double click I posted a duplicate thread. Also I cant post pictures anymore. Ill try a different browser, see if that helps.

We've had compatibility issues of a range of serious for old versions of IE like 6 to minor stuff with IE 8 and 9 for a while, actually. Our best browser match seems to be Firefox, FWIW. Second is a tie with Safari and Chrome and Opera.

just use anything other than IE. Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, whatever. Compare IE to a Schwinn. It was nice one, but it has had its day. Bug, viruses, etc.... They sooner you move past IE the better.

Just thought I'd provide an update for you Tom in case anyone else has this problem. I resolved my problem by removing Google Chrome from my computer. After it was removed, I had to edit the Registry file a bit to change Chrome info to generic (ie: changed “ChromeHTML” to “htmlfile”). Anyhow, short story even shorter ... I no longer have to double click links in BF's while using IE
It should be noted that I only had to double click links using BF's, no other sites gave me a problem. Not sure why.

Hmmmmm, that sounds like Chrome changed some of the registry to proprietary settings that aren't W3C compliant. Thanks,, Alfster.
