Database Error

Lots of Database Errors in the past 3 days. Is something up with the servers?

Tom Stormcrowe 03-31-12 08:20 AM

Yes, we've been having a periodic issue, Machka.

Machka 04-10-12 09:20 PM

The Database Errors continue ...

no1mad 04-10-12 09:33 PM

Maybe the 'regularly scheduled maintenance' is going to fix things...

If not do take heart as the Romans routinely complained that the search was broken :crash:

RT 04-11-12 08:58 AM

Glad I am not alone in this.

Periodic my butt, Tom. Yes, these specific database error issues have just come up, but the performance of this site has been crap ever since the alleged hacker attack of, what, like a year ago? Since IB has taken over, the performance of this site just plain sucks. The bozos that should have been fired during the upgrade fiasco are obviously still around.

FYI, if you are having issues, rather than subjecting the users to intermittent failures, just put up a maintenance splash page and keep everyone out until the issue is corrected AND tested. But nooo, let's make the users our perpetual beta testers and make sure we can keep those ad impressions going.

Oh, and part of your ongoing performance problems come from the javascripts you are loading from external sites like viglink.com. More ad revenue crap I presume?

Data base errors still happening. Also have to try twice at times to access site or pages or threads.

I'm having much worse problems today as well, data base errors.

RT 04-12-12 07:03 AM

Same here. Threads are not specific, it is totally random and abundant failure. Took em five tried to get in here. I get that this is a free service, Tom, so hopefully this can get straightened out soon!

I lived through winter without logging in (ok, twice in five months), so life is possible without BF :D

Machka 04-12-12 07:39 AM

Lots and lots and lots of database errors today. Got a database error trying to get into this database error thread to see if there had been any progress on the problem.

And a database error on my first attempt to post this post. And several trying to edit it ... and guessing there will be more as I try to save this edit.

Karcas 04-12-12 07:43 AM

Canceling the recurring payment in PayPal until this is fixed. Holy friggin annoying. I shouldn't have to fight to view a thread.

coasting 04-12-12 08:03 AM

keeps freezing with database errors repeatedly and gave up trying to post anything.

Tom Stormcrowe 04-12-12 08:10 AM

I'm talking to tech now.

Please let them know that they are the laughing stock of the IT world. Thanks.

You are kidding right? Please, tell me you are not serious.

Ugly mug? You want to be the pot today, or the kettle?

No - and I did feel as though I was joining in on a "conversation" in a part of the forum where I didn't belong!;) and had never gone to before. I guess everything is relative. From now on I'll stick to the safer parts of the forum:lol:

There have been one or two small database issues since mid 2007.
