Why is it more and more complicated to stay here? this is the only website I have problems with, shutting down on me, slow etc... whats going on?, at work I cant even get a thread open ( also only website)?

Mr. Beanz 04-08-12 11:58 AM

+1.....I have to click on most topics two or three times to open a thread, push send two or three times sending a pm, sometimes a thread opens with a blank page.

No problem with any other site than this one. I've read that using something other than IE would help but I'd rather keep IE since the important sites (paying bills) work just fine. ;)

Heck, I can watch a 3 mintue video on youtube faster than I can open a thread here!:D

The site's been having issues the last couple days, and the tech guys are working on it. If you're having particular problems, report them to the moderator, in detail. Include the thread you're looking at, plus the browser, version, and OS you're using. For instance:

Thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...5-This-Website
Browser: Firefox ver. 11.0
OS: Windows XP Professional, SP3
Problem: unable to view thread when clicking on link

Don't use IE. I use Firefox and have no problems. I stop using IE for that similar reason. Haven't use Internet Explorer for years. Tried other web browsers, but Firefox suites me best.

Agreed. I had problems on here when using IE. When I switched browsers, the problems went away.

You can have more than one browser. Currently have Chrome, Dragon (Chrome clone), Firefox, and IE9. Opera is pretty good, Safari sucks on Windows, though.

DEK 04-08-12 07:11 PM

I use Chrome and have no issues.

I use Mozilla Firefox and I have no problems with the web site. The only problems that I have are related to the internet itself and not to this web site.

Yesterday there were database error messages here.

Advanced Search seems not to be working today.

IE = Internet Exploder

Firefox 11? Crazy talk. I had problems with ff10 and downgraded to 8. Then the stupid auto--updater updated me to 9. Seems to work OK. I'm on an older Macbook Pro running 10.7.3. Never use bleeding edge software. It all is crap these days.

RonH 04-09-12 08:44 AM

I use Safari. Yes, I have a Mac. No problems

CbadRider 04-09-12 08:47 AM

We are having server issues. There are a couple of threads in User Assistance:

http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-having-lately

If you still have problems, send a PM or email to Tom Stormcrowe.

Edit: This thread has been moved to User Assistance from General Cycling so IB is aware we are still having issues.

Thanks for contacting the techs for us. Did they say they were going to work on it during the Holidays?

I figured because of Easter, things may have gotten busy so I contacted them again just now to come to this thread to look at the issue as well as others.

I don't think changing browsers is going to help much, it's the site

AlmostGreenGuy 04-09-12 09:34 AM

I'd been having some wicked lag issues with the site for weeks. It seemed entirely random. But sometimes the page would come up; other times it took 3 or 4 tries to get anything more than an infinite hourglass. I finally emptied my browser cookies, and everything went back to normal.

Tom Stormcrowe 04-09-12 10:40 AM

We've been having an inytermittent problem at the server side, and the problem with intermittency is that until you can replicate the issue, you can't fix it. They are hopefully getting a handle on it, though. I do know that tech spent a LOT of hours over the weekend on various issues.

cyclist2000 04-09-12 12:20 PM

I have been having issues with the search feature the last couple of days

This is the error that I have been getting. I have been getting this error with my mac/safari and windows xp using explorer and firefox.

"Oops! An error occurred: unknown local index 'ForumDelta' in search request"

Hopefully, the search problem will e finished up as early as today. Tech has been burning long hours all through this weekend, recovering the search engine and other stuff from the server crash, Friday.

I hate it when that happens. And so do the support guys I deal with. And who you callin' Friday, huh?

Happily, they finished up this afternoon. We have some tired techs tonight. :p Search is functional. :D

Chicago Al 04-10-12 09:02 AM

Still having issues here, long time to open threads, sometimes get the 'database error' message. I'm on Firefox 11. This is the only site I have such problems on so am not going to try different browsers.

Tom Stormcrowe 04-10-12 10:01 AM

ALready talking to tech to see what's happening.

OKIE_55 04-10-12 02:48 PM

I had the same problems yesterday, seems OK now.
I use Firefox, for many years now.
