Mystery fast back stay frame.
 

Maybe someone can help me identify this bike. Love the frame. Built it up. And it looks great. Has Campagnolo fork and rear drop out. English bottom bracket. I was told its American built. But I honestly can't say. Believe it's 1980s.

What does the highlighted mean? How about a photo or five? Key spots to help ID a frame are- seat cluster, stay/blade end treatments, fork crown, cable routing/braze on stops, decals (of course), paint job, tubing brand, serial #. The more info/shots the better. Andy.

Still no shots. IIRC this forum restricts photo posting until a grace period has passed. Do you have access to a third party photo sharing site (like Flicker) to link to? Preferably one that doesn't require signing up to view. Andy

this isn't really the frame ID forum, all I can tell you is that I didn't make it. Absolutely nothing about that frame screams out to me as being particularly identifiable, and since it apparently is repainted, maybe there is no way to tell. We probably should have moved the other thread from General into Classic and Vintage, which is where people care about such things.

They will want to know if there is any evidence of a serial number anywhere, so you might want to look for that

I don't know who built it but can tell you what part of the country it was mostly likely made. The blind fastback seat stay treatment was popular in mid California in the last part of the 70's and maybe into the 80's. I would guess somewhere in the Bay area. Of course it could have been built anywhere but I distinctly remember that style was most common in CA. Henry James investment cast lugs started to be popular starting around 1980. Those look like Prugnat lugs from the 70's.

To jump on what Doug said, my guess (only based on the fastback stays) would be Bernie Mikkelsen out of Alameda CA.
