Stickers/Decals
My frame will be nearing completion soon and would like to get some decals made before taking it in to be painted. Could someone recommend a good place to get some waterslide stickers made? Every site that I've come across has been fairly hard to navigate. Also what are some dimensions that you have used when designing them?

Lots of information about decal's in this thread...https://www.bikeforums.net/framebuil...-creation.html

I talked to my painter the other day and he said he preferred to work with vinyl stencils and that for my lettering, it should not exceed much more than 1" in height. I went online to see about getting some made but most of the minimum dimensions start at 3". Does anyone have any suggestions?

Do you know someone who has a Cricut or other type of vinyl plotter? If so, have them cut the stencils/decals for you. If not, most sign shops will cut vinyl stencils/decals for you. Your painter should know where to get them made, if he doesn't have a vinyl cutter himself.
I could cut them for you, if you can send me an SVG file or JPG of the design. If it is just simple lettering with a normal font, I can do the design myself. |
I have a really bad case of analysis paralysis about decals. One thing that is stopping me is that I go through font sites looking for a capital 'K' that I like and there aren't very many. Which is important, since that's the first letter of my name

I don't know if they all do it, but Fontspace allows you to type in your desired text to see it as the demo for each font.

Eric- While I do understand your wanting a certain "look" I wonder how much font searching you've done. My late wife was in the art publication world. Back in the 1990s she had access to many dozens (dozen of dozens?) of fonts. I was surprised at the number of styles and looks that back then were already made. Then there's the graphic artist path and come up with a self designed "K". (I did this professional route for my shop's logo back in the 1980s and am still glad I did). Andy

there are a lot of font websites now. You can put in your text and it will show it to you in page after page of fonts.

I know some people use "dry transfer decals" then a clear coat on top of them.
