Calfee diy bamboo kit
Has anyone out there built one of those DIY bamboo kits from Calfee? I seriously considering it, I think it would be a fun project to do with my dad. Successes failures potential pitfalls? Any advice is appreciated.

There are some threads in this forum about building a frame from bamboo. I'm not sure I remember anyone building a Calfee kit though.

While bamboo bikes aren't my cup of tea, I am all for people doing stuff with their dad and if that's a bamboo bike, well, good on you!
In the 'Show Us Your Build' sticky thread, there's a guy who has built 3 apparently from different kits. You may want to contact him - the post is a year old but, he's probably still around. You could also contact Calfee.

Thanks for the support
Hi everyone who chimed, thanks for the support. I found a thread of someone who built a few kits, the first 1 took a few years but after that he built 2 more so that's encouraging.

I know someone who made one from a kit. I don't know which kit, but it gave you a simple jig, scale drawings, everything you needed. It probably took him a couple of months. Obviously you can spend years on something if you want
But it seems like a great project to do with your dad to me.
